BWSC Spring Luncheon at the beautiful Danversport in Danvers, MA

Join your BWSC friends and fellow sailors for the Spring Social on Sunday May 15th

We have turned the clocks ahead, started our boat chores, and now it is time to think about the BWSC Spring Social. After several cancellations and a long break from in person gatherings, we are planning to kick off the 2022 season with a luncheon on the water at Danversport YC.  Festivities will begin at 1:30 PM with a cocktail reception followed by a full course buffet luncheon. There will also be a special reception for our new members so they can get acquainted with the officers and Membership Committee as well as sponsors and each other.

While the spring event is traditionally a dinner, we hope that the mid-day time will enable greater participation from members who have to travel from further distances while also allowing us to take advantage of credits from events postponed due to the pandemic.

Registration is now open. And, as a thank you to all our members who stayed loyal during the COVID years, BWSC is deeply discounting the member fee for this long overdue reunion. We look forward to a fun day to kick off the sailing season and to celebrate being together again!

COVID Guidelines

We are not yet back to normal regarding the COVID pandemic. This means that we are still taking precautions for the conduct of our in-person indoor gatherings. It appears that the Omicron variant of the COVID virus continues to increase in the number of infections, and, there is a growing number of breakthrough cases of infection for those who have been fully vaccinated, or have had the virus previously, or both.

We therefore provide the following guidance for those intending to participate in the May 15th Spring dinner:
1 – Insure that you are fully vaccinated and boosted
2 – DO NOT ATTEND the May 15th dinner IF:
• You are currently experiencing any symptoms of COVID (sore throat, fever, coughing, runny nose etc.)
• You have tested positive with no symptoms within the last 14 days
• You have recently been infected with COVID and have NOT consistently tested negative for the last 14 days
• You have been in close contact with someone who has tested positive or is known to be infected with COVID within the last 14 days
3 – For those currently planning to attend this dinner:
There is nothing that can be done to insure that for anyone attending this dinner, they will not become infected with COVID as a result. Therefore, we recommend that every member use their best judgement, and attend this dinner at your own risk.
For an added safety of margin, we recommend that those attending take a rapid antigen test with negative results the day before attending.

Your compliance with these guidelines will be greatly appreciated.
