Why sail Norway to experience the fjords or round Cape Horn to test your sailing skills when the southern coast of Newfoundland and the Southern Tip of Nova Scotia are next door? Newfoundland is a 69 mile sail off Cape Breton. Nova Scotia is one short overnight passage away from Maine. For those Blue Water Sailing Club members who want to extend their sailing season in 2024 by a month in mid August and September, explore the Cabot Trail and Bra D"Or Lakes in 2025 before or after relaunching their boats from the marina in Baddeck (Bras D'Or Lakes) for a 3 or 4 week cruise in July and August among the fjords in Newfoundland, this seminar will review plans to make that trip possible for all members who have not previously ventured into those waters. Topics include: an itinerary for day sailing Nova Scotia and Newfoundland, a strategy for getting to and then around the Southern Tip of Nova Scotia and returning in mid August-early September 2025, a review of recommended equipment, tips on provisioning, weather
communications and routing options, followed by a Q & A.
