I have a Catana 42s sailing catamaran that I take back to Florida starting mid October.
The usual route is through Long lsand Sound NYC, Down the Jersey and Delaware coasts and then through the ICW to Moorehead city or Cape Fear then hen back to the ocean for the rest of the trip. Sometimes additional stops are made.
