Long Cove offers good protection and holding. Easy, but long dinghy ride to Tenant’s Harbor town dock. There is nice hiking on High Island.

Roque Island has been the goal for sailors cruising Down East, perhaps because of its beautiful mile long white sandy beach.

Explore Mud Hole, about two miles via dinghy, a wonderfully private and well protected anchorage …It is difficult to enter, but once inside, you are in a completely natural little fjord… It provides easy access to The Nature Conservancy’s Great Wass Island Preserve and some wonderful trails.

Winter Harbor Yacht Club (207 963 2275) has rental moorings in their mooring field.

Aug.12  Tuesday Hadlock Cove, L Cranberry   
    

All of Cranberry Harbor can be used as an anchorage, though it is broad and quite exposed. …The best protection is found in Hadlock Cove. Islesford Dock Restaurant also manages several rental mornings.

A protected harbor that BWSC has enjoyed in the past. There is a hiking trail near the inner end of the cove.
