Safety for Cruising Couples Seminar
About this event
The Blue Water Sailing Club and Cruising Club of America present:
The Safety for Cruising Couples Seminar
Many, if not most, of our BWSC membership sail their boat as a couple. In many cases, one person may be a stronger sailor or more knowledgeable about the boat than the other.
The seminar is designed to help foster a better partnership between “skipper” and “crew”, and help all to deal with emergencies that might happen.
The Seminar will be run as a joint event between BWSC and CCA. It will start at 9:30am and run until approximately 3:00pm.
There will be a coffee break in the morning; lunch will be provided (sandwiches, chips, and soft drink) and another break in the afternoon.

TOPICS COVERED:
• Skipper and Crew Partnership
• Sharing Responsibilities
• Confidence-building Exercises
• Dealing with Emergencies
SPEAKERS:
Brian Guck (CCA);
Dennis McKay (BWSC); and
Anne Kolker, M.D. (BWSC & CCA)
Hurry! Due to space limits, we can only accommodate up to 30 couples
Coffee, lunch, refreshments and course workbook included
The goal of this seminar is to help cruising couples increase cruising safety and enjoyment through a PARTNERSHIP between the skipper and first mate by learning about and preparing for emergencies together.
